Heritage Park Proposal

The Kamloops Chinese Cultural Association and the Kamloops Chinese Freemason Association stand firmly behind this initiative. We believe that the Heritage Park, with its depiction of old heritage storefronts, vintage cars, and steam trains, would serve as a vivid and realistic representation of the rich history of our city.

There are several compelling reasons why the establishment of the Heritage Park is of paramount importance to both the city of Kamloops and its residents. First and foremost, it holds immense educational value. By showcasing old Chinese stores, restaurants, and other historic buildings, the park would offer a tangible link to our past, allowing current and future generations to gain a deeper understanding of our city’s history.

Furthermore, the park would play a crucial role in preserving our heritage values. By bringing back memories of bygone eras and highlighting the contributions of various cultural groups to ourcommunity, it would foster a sense of pride and connection among local residents.

In terms of its significance to the city, the Heritage Park would also have a positive impact on tourism. Drawing visitors from both near and far, it would contribute to the local economy by generating additional service revenues for businesses and creating new opportunities for growth.

Additionally, the establishment of the park has the potential to unite various heritage groups within our community. By providing a shared platform for collaboration and promotion, it would encourage greater cooperation and solidarity among those who are passionate about preserving our collective history. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse the Heritage Park proposal and urge the City of Kamloops to support its realization. The benefits it would bring in terms of education, heritage preservation, tourism, and community cohesion are invaluable and would undoubtedly enrich the fabric of our city for years to come.
